Privacy Policy
BUS Watchdog ("BUS," "we," "us") helps service businesses keep their invoicing clear, sent, and tracked. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we handle and how we treat it. It applies to buswatchdog.com and the BUS Watchdog service.
What we collect
- Accounting data you authorize. When you connect your QuickBooks Online account through Intuit's official authorization, we access your business's accounting records — such as invoices, customers, balances, and payment status — solely to provide the service. You never share your QuickBooks password with us.
- Contact information. Names, email addresses, and phone numbers you give us so we can deliver reports and communicate with you.
- Basic usage information. Standard technical logs (such as when the service ran and whether it succeeded) used to keep the service reliable.
How we use it
We use your data for one purpose: providing the service to your business — building your reports, sending your alerts, and improving the accuracy of what we deliver to you. We do not use your business data to train models shared with anyone else, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never share your business data with other customers or third parties, except the service providers strictly necessary to operate (for example, our email delivery provider), who may only use it to provide that service to us.
- We never make changes to your books without your explicit approval of a feature that does so.
How we protect it
Your data is stored in the United States. Access tokens and stored data are protected with encryption and restricted access. All communication with Intuit's systems uses secure (TLS) connections. Access to customer data is limited to what is required to operate and support the service.
Your control
- Disconnect anytime. You can revoke BUS Watchdog's access from your QuickBooks account settings at any time, immediately.
- Deletion. If you end the service, ask us at contact@buswatchdog.com and we will delete the data we hold for your business.
- Questions and copies. You may ask us at any time what data we hold about your business.
Data retention
We keep your data while you use the service so we can show history and trends. When you leave and request deletion, we remove your business data from our systems, except minimal records we are legally required to keep.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above, and notify active customers of material changes by email.
